Patricio,

Thank you for responding to my posting. Your site has a great deal of information regarding Barnum but my angle is a little different. I have a photo of my grandmother about age 4 or 5 taken with a Ruth Barnam who was about the same age. I'm pretty sure they were both born in the same area of Western CT (Warren, Kent Co. area). Also my grandmother was a Hopkins (Lucile, with one L, born 30 Apr 1906), and Matthew Starr Barnum Jr. (born 1806) married Catherine Jane Hopkins (no known children) late in life (he was 64, she about 37). So I was thinking that the Ruth Barnam in the picture (born about 1906) might be a distant cousin of my grandmother's. Catherine Jane Hopkins was my grandmother's great-aunt.

This is probably a very confusing posting, but if you think you can help me with this puzzle please ask for any detail which might help.

Thanks,

Karen
