Looking for Northern Indiana Barnums

I am looking for any information about the Barnums in Noble County, IN during the 1800s.
My father was Ben Barnum, Born 08-01-1916 in Noble County, to Abel A Barnum (Died 1934) and Blanche (Bonham) Barnum.
I understand that many family records for this branch of the family were lost in a fire
in either Noble County or Conneticut. I believe that this branch was decended from Platt Barnum, father of Abel Barnum (Born 30-Jun-1821).
I can find no records connecting the generations beyond my babybook.
