Hello, I have been researching my geneology for a few years now, and have tied my family to David Barnhill of Scotland (Special thanks to Don Barnhill for filling in the gaps). During my limited research I have found a few hamlets in Scotland by the name Barnhill.
-Barnhill, north of Blantyre,Lanarkshire
-Barnhill, north of Monifieth,Angus
-Barnhill, 1 east & 1 west of Perth
-Barnhill, near Pluscarden Abbey, Elgin area
-Barnhills, in Galloway
While it is doubtful all are related to our family,the first 3 are likely due to ancestors living there according to IGI records. Does anyone have firm info on these hamlets? Your help is much appreciated. Thank you, Mark Barnhill Walters
