This may be a relative of Henry Barnhart who was from born in Washington County, Md. He moved to Franklin County, Pa. prior to the Civil War. He is my Grt. Grt. grt grandfather. The there is Simon Witherspoon Barnhart - then William Edward - then my grandfather John Adam Barnhart. Henry is a decendant of Heinrich Bernhardt 1763 Lancaster, Pa. Henry had a brother George. I have more info. which I got from a 2nd cousin Joseph Barnhart. He can be found on this forum. We maybe distantly related.
