I am looking for any information on Jacob Barnhart. Where he is from, father, mother, Date came to US, etc. The following is a little info on him.

Thanks
Chuck

Jacob Barnhart was an early settler in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Before coming to Somerset County, Jacob Barnhart and his family probably lived in Cumberland County where Conrad Miller, the father of Mary Ann Miller had settled in about 1731.
Jacob took out a warrant (#2633) for about 260 acres in Quemahoning Township, which was surveyed 12 May 1786. Among the original members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Friedens, which was organized about 1873, were Jacob and Peter Barnhart.
Jacob Barnhart and his family were baptized on 11 January 1790. The names and dates of birth of his children are listed in the Church record of Berlin. Elders, Michael Zimmerman and Jacob Schweitzer were sponsors.
Jacob and his family, except son John and perhaps Jacob Jr., moved to Ohio where he purchased 156 acres of land on 2 December 1805 in the NW Quarter of Section 7, Amanda Township in Fairfield County. Jacob probably died there in 1825. His estate was settled in 25 July 1825. It is not known when and where his wife Mary Ann died.
Records at the Somerset County Courthouse record land sales from Jacob Barnhart to Richard Nichalson on Mar 31, 1801 and to Daniel Barnhart on Aug 25, 1806 (his son?) during his transition to Ohio. This may imply that Daniel did not go to Ohio.
Records at the Bedford County Courthouse (Somerset incorporated out of Bedford County in 1795) record two land sale transactions from a Jacob Barnhart of Quemahoning Township. The first, on February 25th, 1785, sold 260 acres of land "on the great road that leads from Bedford to Jones Mills" to James Wells. The second, on April 12th, 1786, sold 300 acres of
land to Jacob Baker.
Note: Bedford County incorporated out of Cumberland County in 1771. Any immigration records before 1771 would probably be recorded there.
