Donna,
First everything I am suggesting is speculation and please take it as such.
I can trace my family accuratly to Daniel Barnhart 2nd or Jr to 1787 in Franklin Co. VA. The rest is family stories that I have never been able to verify.
He may have been born in what is know Franklin Co. PA ca 1765. Family stories say he moved to VA in 1776. However he was the only one to hav been in VA in 1787 so I think not. I have traced several associated families from Cumberland Co. PA. to Frederick (now washinton co MD in 1776/1777) then from Frederick MD to Franklin VA in 1783/1786 time frame. I am assuming that Daniel 2nd would have come with these families. But what happened to the rest of his family?
Assuming the family stories are true his father Daniel 1st (sr) and his brothers would be along that path somewhere. His brothers are said to be David and Jonathan. Maybe your Catherine's father or maybe Catherine was a later child to Daniel 1st. Family stories say he had 2 daughters but no names. The Frederick Co. Connection is interesting if nothing else.
