I know much less about our DAVIS family than the BARNHART's....(my G-G-Grandfather) Benjamin DAVIS (b. 19 Apr 1832) moved with his family from Baltimore to Ohio then Indiana as farmers. In 1854 he married Charity BELLIS. I assume they met in Indiana. In 1855 the couple joined with two other families, George and Henry BINNS, immigrated west and settled in Page Co, IA.
Benjamin DAVIS came from a large family, but I have no further information on them. I do know his brother William DAVIS joined the couple in Iowa in 1859.
It is possible your DAVIS is related to mine, but with DAVIS being such a common name, it has been difficult tracking my particular branch.
