Believe parents were Nicholas Barnhart 1740-1803 of Sussex Co. NJ, German Lutheran Minister, served as chaplain American Revolution 1779-1782, married Hannah Irving. Have no proof of the parental connection. Nicholas parents are John Barnhart 1713-1779 killed battle of Saratoga, married Gertrude Rau from Oppenheim Germany.
