I am not related, but noticed an obit in today's paper ('The Intellengencer' Wheeling WV, Wednesday, October 18, 2000). The obit is of Hazel Galford, 95 of Clarksburg, WV, formerly of Friendly, WV, died Oct. 16, 2000 in Clarksburg. She is the daughter of Joseph Northcraft and Laura (Barnhart) Northcraft.
She was born Sept. 10, 1905, in Sistersville, WV. She was a former teacher in Tyler County Schools and a member of the United Methodist Temple, Clarksburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Galford, on Jan. 6, 2000; four brothers, Lawrence, Robert, Victor and Oscar Northcraft; three sisters, Edna Virden, Olive Kelly and Edith Clark. Surviving are a brother, Leonard Northcraft of Friendly, WV; a sister, Hilda Floyd of Oxford, FL; several nieces and nephews.
Friends are received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday with Pastor James L. Caton II officiating. Interment in Friendly Cemetery, Friendly, WV.
