I am descended from a Charles Barnhardt who was married to an Anna (unknown last name)
One of their children was a John R. Barnhardt
who married a Phillippinna Scmidt/Schmittinn or Smith. One of their children was a John S. Barnhardt who married a Delia Duke. I am descended from the John S.. My problem is this. The first place that I'm sure they were was in Cabarrus County, NC. Previous to that I have no idea. I would like to find out where the family came from at the least and at the most find some more family where they came from.
