Hello,
I'm interesting in finding my father's side of the family..I don't know much about them. My name is Leona Barnhart Nelson (born June 14th 1961) and I was born and raised in California, but my mother and father was born and raised in Detroit Mich. My Father's name is Earl Eugene Barnhart (Nov 3 1929 to Sept. 3rd 1989)
My father's parents were Harold Eugene Barnhart (Died 1990 Mich.) and his mother's name was Georgie White Barnhart (Died before I was born)...I also have three bother's named James Paul Barnhart, Mayland Jennings Barnhart (Jennings is also a family name) and Arnold Earl Barnhart. What I was told that there were four familys that came into Mich. The Webster's, Thompson's, Snover's and Barnhart's and they helped bring Mich. into Statehood...
The Barnhart name use to be spelled Barnhardt...but it was changed when
the Barnhart family came to the states.
If any of this fits I would love to hear from you. Not many Barnhart's know their roots.
