Need help sorting out a Barnhardt line in NC. Trying to identify the husband of Elizabeth Propst (b. 1810) who supposedly married a MATHIAS BARNHARDT in Cabarrus Co. NC in 1826. Mathias died before 1850 as Elizabeth was listed as head of household in that census. Need to identify parents of Mathias. Some info on line list him as John Mathias Barnhardt, son of George Barnhardt and Martha Reed, but this is not possible, since he was born in 1821.
Also trying to identify husband of Nellie Barnhardt (1844-1924) who was listed in several records as "Doc/Dock" Barnhardt. Nellie was the daughter of Mathias Barnhardt and Elizabeth Propst. She had at least two children, Adolphus(b. 1871)m. Bettie Mae Isenhour, and Ida(b. 1879 - d. 1963)m. George Edward Isenhour.
