Leonard Lee Corn did, in fact, marry Irene Lizzy Jane Barnett in 1939... it was literally a shotgun wedding. My dad has a copy of the marriage certificate. However, my grandfather joined the army shortly thereafter, and they lost contact with him for more than 20 years.
