My gg grandmother Mary Helen Hammond was born 15 Oct 1853 in Johnson Co MO and died 27 Sep 1936 in Milton-Freewater, Umatilla, OR. Her first marriage to William T Ritchie was in Sep 1874 in Henry Co MO. They had one son, Charles Thomas Ritchie b 19 Oct 1875 in Clinton, Henry Co, MO. He married Nancy Catherine Gates Jun 1900 in Clinton, Henry Co MO and died 9 Sep 1907 in LaGrande, Union, OR where he is buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
After William's death, I believe Mary Helen married John H Barnett before 1880. They had 3 children, William A Barnett abt 1886; Angeline (Angie) Francis Barnett 22 Nov 1889 born in Johnson Co MO and possibly married a "Woods"; and Ben Barnett.
Charles Thomas Ritchie was referred to on the 1880 census in Johnson Co MO as "Richy". In 1900 John & Mary were in Roscoe, St Clair Co MO with William A age 14 and Angie F age 10. In 1930 John and Mary were in Umatilla Co, OR with granddaughter Mary J, 8 yrs born in OR.
I am especially interested in finding who Mary Helen Hammond's parents were and following their lineage. Mary Helen's son, Charles Thomas Ritchie was my great grandfather. Any help with this family line would be appreciated. wanda6253@hotmail.com
