BARNES CHARLOTTE H. 79, a retired aircraft electrical component assembler, died Saturday, July 21, 2001 in Arlington. Funeral: 1 pm Wednesday at Arlington Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 pm Tuesday at Arlington Funeral Home. She was born in the Shiloh community outside Osceola, Texas on February 12, 1922. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, cherished by her family and friends. She leaves behind several neighborhood friends on N. Oak Street where she and Issac lived for nearly 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Issac Barnes. Upon graduating from Blum High School in 1939, Charlotte moved to Abilene, Texas to live with her sister Una Mae. She began her career working at a candy store in Abilene, Texas, worked for the railroad in Salt Lake City, Utah, worked for Mrs. Baird's Bread and General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Crown Moulding and the Container Corporation in Arlington, ARA Air Conditioning in Grand Prairie and retired from LTV Corporation after 15 years. After retirement, Charlotte worked part-time at Mitchell's, a local department store, where she could be around her friends. She was a hard working mother, dedicated to making her family's life the best it could be. She will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors: Son, Chris Barnes and wife, Mary of Dallas; daughters, Shelia Rogers and husband, Jimmie of Arlington, Charlotte Evans and husband, Doyle of Arlington; brothers, Ladell Hill of Katy, Ray Harold of Amarillo, Texas; sisters, Una Mae Davidson of Monahans, Barbara Marsh of Katy, Harmenna Cook of Waco, Texas, Floy Watson of Whitney, Texas; grandchildren David Evans and wife, Sissy of Maypearl, Tammy Ayers and husband, Dan of Arlington, Kevin Jolley of Emory, Stacie Jolley of Arlington, Jordan Barnes of Dallas, and Beau Barnes of Dallas; great-grandson Daniel Ayers of Arlington; caregiver Sheryl Dell'Andrea.
