P.C. Barnes, Atty./ Cumberland, MD /1930
I've recently been sent a copy of an oldletter that was written in 1930 by a P.C. Barnes, Atty. at Law, of Cumberland, MD. In it he speaks of family history and his ancestor David Barnes that first arrived in Frederick Co., MD in 1740-50 from England. P.C. says his father's name was George W. Barnes (1825-1911) and came to Cumberland in 1850 worked as a machinist in Towers Foundry and machine shops. George's father was Abel Barnes of Fulton Co., PA. George W.'s brothers are shown as Abel, Archibald, Lloyd and Samuel. Does anyone know anything about P.C. Barnes? Or where he got his information? At this point, I don't know what the P.C. stands for.
Thanks.
