Shirley, Thanks for writing back. Sorry it was not what you needed. I was wrong in my first reply. James Barnes is the one I descended from. He was called Handsome Jim. John was called Deaf John from a cannon blast in the American Revolution. That is funny because they both married Quakers. James married Sarah Carter born 1733 in PA. and died 1829 in Wilkes county NC. I have five of their children, Jehue 1760, Michael 1776, Hannah 1777, John 1778 and Edward 1779. Edward was my line. For some reason James went to Indiana and left Sarah in North Carolina. Sarah died at the home of Rev. Isaac Oxford. Isaac's son, Jamesmarried Hannah Barnes in 1806. Sarah was 96 years old but she died at the home of James Oxford not his dad. James Barnes' brother John married Ruth Elizabeth Fisher and had one son named James born 1768 in Frederick, Virginia. What information did you use to make you look in Burke county North Carolina for your Barnes line? If you could give me info about where your dad was born, then his dad and so on. Also give me the info on your mom, your grandmother and so on. I enjoy looking for people and I need to take a break from my own family some times. It helps because I am at a stand still right now and I don't mind if you don't care. I will not pry into your personal life. And I will stop any time you want me to. Ronnie
