Looking for the parents of Charles S. Barnes b. 1813-1816 in Vermont. Married Louisa Welden (b. 1824 NY) about 1840. 1850 Census resided in Ela, Lake County, Illinois and by 1860 in Winneshiek County, Iowa. Believed to have died 1861 as Louisa remarried to Charles Bates in 1866 and then moved to Missouri.
Children of Charles and Louisa included Sherman W. Barnes b. 1842 NY, d. 11 Nov. 1863, Jennette R. Barnes b. 1844 NY, Frances (Frank) O. Barnes b. 1848 Illinois and Adelbert Leroy Barnes b. 29 June 1858 Winneshiek, Iowa.
