BURIAL: Although the cemetery is adjacent to the Methodist Church which regularly holds services, the cemetery is not well kept. The stones of Hannah Barnes and Sarah Barnes are broken off and lying on the ground. Some years ago the
DAR placed a marker on Hannah's grave indicating that she was the daughter of a Revolutionary Soldier, but the marker could not be found.

Henry Slack, b. @1738 Eng., d. @1797 Md.. He fought in the Revolutionary War and was a Sergeant. Both he and his son John Slack enlisted in Anne Arundel County Md. Henry had a daughter, Hannah married to Leven Barnes. She applied for and received Henry's benefits. John and his wife Maria Margaret Auman moved to Randolph County NC. Can anyone help me with any of this? I have a good bit of family information on John and Margaret after they went to the Seagrove/Whynot area of Randolph County, NC.
