Cecillie,
It took me month’s but:
I know W.T. Barnes was born in GA. In 1839. This was according to his State of Texas obituary. I went thru ALL of the 1840 GA. census records. I looked for Barns, etc. I also went thru the 1840 census (I brought up every Bar**’s)in NC. Then I went thru the 1830 actual census pages for NC and Georgia. I narrowed it down to two. Will Barnes was a candidate but he did now show up in NC in 1830. There was a Willie though. George did show up in 1830 in Burke Co. NC. This showed 1 male 20-30, 2 girls under 5, 1 girl 5 to 10 and one adult female 20-30. This family could have had another female or a non-relative female. In the 1840 Baldwin Co. GA. Census George Barnes gained a possible son 15-20 years old. This also showed another girl 10-15 years old like the 1830 census showed. This George did not show up in the 1850 censes for anywhere. Willis Barnes did show up in 1850 though. I think their parents died between 1839 and 1849 and this is the reason that their children were scattered all over Georgia. I also went thru the cemetery records and found nothing. Remember this was a very poor family and they owned no land. They were overseers to OP(s) land and probably could not afford a decent marker. Input welcomed.
