I replied to another Forum message about Allen Barnes/Rachel Nolan. Please read that also for more details about my Evans/Barnes interest.Lucy Evans married LEMON BARNES b. 1780-1790 and they lived in LaPorte County, Indiana the few years of their marriage. They had both been married before, he with 3 children and Lucy with 2 previous children.A son, Lemon Barnes, Jr, was born to Lemon and Lucy in Oct 1839 in LaPorte Co, IN.Lemon had been with a brother, Truman Barnes in Fulton Co, Illinois before the marriage to Lucy. Both Lemon Sr and Truman Barnes died perhaps in an accident about 1845.In 1847 another brother, Orrin Barnes was appointed guardian of the children (Julius, Luther, and Ann Jenette Barnes) and he took these children of Lemon Barnes from his first marriage to LICKING CO, OHIO where Orrin lived at the time. This information was from THE BARNES LINEAGE, by Ernest Bernard Comstock, pub in 1937.This gives the lineage:1.Thomas Barnes,2. Ebenezer Barnes,3.Ebenezer Barnes,4.Nathan Barnes,5.Nathan Barnes,6.Lemon Barnes. Does any of this sound familiar or perhaps you can see a flaw in my stitching the information together!
