The "Vital REcords of Amesbury 1600-1850" doesn't support John marrying Dorothy Challis: It lists these Marriages:
TRistam & Dorothy Currier 14 Dec. 1743
Tristram & Sally Titcomb (nov. 26 1789
Trustram Jr. & Dorothy Challis of Newton int. Feb 2 1760

Here's a new idea. There is another Dorothy Currier b. 1 May 1753 in Amesbury to Eliphalet & Mary Currier. Could this be our Dorothy? She had siblings Jerusha, Molly, Moses, Dorothy & Eliphalet. I got this info from "History of Lowells in America from 1639-1899". It says nothing about her marriage, but the age of birth make sense.
