The Wiltshire wills site also has Macy / Macey wills in Chilmark and Fovant, about 4 miles from Chilmark.

Thomas Macy's wife Sarah Hopcott is said to have been born in Chilmark:

I note that the original landholder from whom Macy and Barnard obtained land on Nantucket was Mayhew,

and there are Mayhew wills in Chilmark and in Tisbury, Fonthill Bishop and Warminster, all in the same little area.

And someone seems to have named Chilmark, Massachusetts, after his hometown. And West Tisbury, a few miles from Chilmark, MA; Tisbury is a couple of miles from Chilmark in Wiltshire. And of course there is also Salisbury, MA. Chilmark is about halfway between Warminster and Salisbury in Wiltshire.

I'd say that a goodly number of the people who first settled Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard were from that little patch of Wiltshire, and it would be kind of surprising if your Barnards weren't among them!
