I am searching for a copy of the James Williams bible. A photocopy of the first page of this bible was in the James Williams Family File at the Simpson County, Kentucky Historical Society. This record was submitted back in 1970 by Hallie Peden Lewis McFarlane with her DAR application for James Williams.
This record contains the names and marriages of James Williams (including Eleanor Barnard) and his children, including Frances Williams who married a Clampitt (James Clampitt). I am descended from Frances and James Clampitt, and have no other way to prove that Frances is the daughter of James Williams and Eleanor Barnard due to the courthouse fire in Simpson County, KY that destroyed almost all records before 1880.
