When my parents purchsed the house I now live in we found approximately 10 grave stones laying around. Some were being used as steps, other were just there. None were erected. My thought on the matter was that there was a family plot involved which has since been lost. However, one stone belongs to the Barmore family which kind of throws a kink in that idea. The names and text that I have been able to read are below. It's my understanding that the Barmore, Vincent, and Darling family are old Dutchess County families. Scared to the Memory of Elizabeth, Daughter of Seth and Margaret Barmore, who died July 25, 1845, aged 10 yrs. __ mo. and 16 days. In memory of Laura Darling who died Sept. 15, 1841; aged 5 years. In memory of Platt Vincent who died March 7, 1841; aged 32 years & 29 days. In memory of Ruben Vincent who died Sept 28, 1842; aged 79 years (unreadable) and 8 days In memory of Deborah, wife of Ruben Vincent, who died Sept. 6, 1819; aged 48 years, 7 months, and 28 days. In memory of Jonathan Darling who died May 17, 1880; aged 2 years, 7 months and 27 days. In memory of Alfred Darling who died Aug ?8, 1838, aged 8 years 2 months and 27 days. In memory of Lydia B. Vincent who died Feb. 26, 1843; aged 10 years, 3 months and 14 days. Notify Administrator about this message?
