Subject: Re: BARKWILL Date: Tue, 12 Dec 2000 17:52:52 -0700 From: "Sharon Austin" <austin@doitnow.com> To: "Dick Bolt" <dickbolt@his.com> References: 1 I just opened the box to see if there is something else I might tell you about. All I see is letters, a few cartoons, a lot of greeting cards and a lot of newspaper articles (mostly obituaries). The neat thing about the ones I read was they almost tell the life history of the person that died and what he died from i.e.. consumption, fall, etc. There is also a newspaper article about a baby by the name of Bessie Wilcox that was born in 1893. She was not quite 3 yrs. old and could sing and play music. It explained a lot about her and at the end it says "If she lives no pains will be spared to give her a musical education". THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT HER BEING ILL! There is also a hand drawn picture of her with the article. It would take a long time to go through all of these and read them and I work full time at GM besides doing this on weekends and when I come home evenings. From what I can see though, there is a lot of articles about people other than the Barkwell's but I think it was their treasures. The Indian things I have on auction were from a Jewelry box I purchased at the same auction but not related to the trunk. Thanks for your interest!
