Sorry - No answer but I'd dearly like to know it!

I am descended from Peter Barkman m. 14 Apr 1807 Rebekah of Rienroe, Adare, IRELAND. Many family members believe Peter to be a son of Peter Barkman md. Mary Connors 12 Jan 1783, who may have been closely related to the Jacob Barkman you name.

I'm guessing that you have read Hank Z Jones' "The Palatine Families of Ireland"? On page 74 he describes a Peter Laurence who emigrated to America, probably on the Pery in 1760.

There seem to have been a number named "Peter Laurence". It's good to hear from you, and I would be pleased to hear from anyone else with information on the subject.
