I, too, am a descendent of Jean-Baptiste Baribeau and Marie-Anne Hus, b. July 8, 1707, m. Feb. 25, 1732 in Sorel. From there on back, I seem to be missing a generation.

Francois Baribeau and Perrine Moreau, m. in France in 1669 (possibly Saintonge) are said to be the parents of all Baribeau's in the new world.

I have a copy of the Bastican, Quebec parish
records for Baribeau births/deaths/marriages. I also have a book which I purchased ca. 10 years ago in Quebec (Nos Ancetres) with about 5 1/2 pages
about Francois and Perrine. The book states that Francois and Perrine had
at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. I believe the one of the sons was the grandfather of our Jean-Baptiste Baribeau.

Louis -, was born in France ca. 1660. m. Feb 10, 1687 to Madeleine Feuillon. Died
in 1748

Jean - who married Marguerite Cossette Feb 2, 1697

Gabrielle - married first to Guillaume Le Bellet, then to Paul Bertrand dit
Saint-Arnaud

Catherine - born 1675 ....married to Jean Germain dit Magny

Francois - 1678-1724, married to Marie Joseph Robert dit Saint-Amant

Pierre dit Beaupre - born in 1681, married to Madeleine Dessureaux
