Dear Bill,
Hello there and greetings from Bristol, England. I am new to this world of computers and have been checking up on the Barham family and your name occurs frequently, so I suppose you have an interest in your ancestors!I must just explain, in case you think I am a spectre from a different century, that I was born with the surname Allen but changed my name to our ancestral one over twenty years ago! My dear grandfather (Mr Tilden Allen who died aged 81 nearly 30 years ago) was the son of a Barham descendant (his Mother) and his cousin Loftus Barham was, I believe, instrumental in engaging the Kentish historian Fitzgerald-Uniacke to trace the family tree....documented evidence going back to Warine de Bereham in 1203. I have always been fascinated by the numerous stories and legends and I have one of the copies of Mr Fitzgerald-Uniacke's book produced around 1910.
I can see from the many entries on the name that there are a lot of Barhams living in the United States and Worldwide so we are many! If you would like to make contact - perhaps I can check on more historical links from this country that you might be interested in - then send me an email message at your convenience. I have numerous unanswered questions but this email access certainly does shrink the world!!
With very best wishes, sincerely, John de Barham.
