I am decendant of James Carothers & Penelope House Barfield, Maj. John Lapsley McEwen Who married Tabitha House Barfield is the son of my ancestor David McEwen & Margaret Ervin. I come from John's brother James Mcewen & Elizabeth Goff.
There is nothing to susgest, nor anything that supports Tabitha was married prior to her marriage to John McEwen.
The decendants of Barfield,Carothers,McEwen have done great research on the family, we have nothing that sugests the extra mariage.
Of the surnames listed above, we are still close today. I have spent a vast number of years on my ancestors of Williamson Co, then Davidson Co, when Carothers and Barfield arrived .
