Jethro,
William Barefoot b. abt. 1740s married Amelia Joyner was son of George b. Surry Co. (This George was a son of Noah Barefoot b. abt. 1650) died in Columbus Co. and Elizabeth Barefoot. According to deeds, this George and Elizabeth had children William, Noah and Newitt. I find no where that George had a son John. He was not listed in the estate like William, Noah and Newitt were. William and Amelia moved to Columbus Co., Bladen Co. and parts of SC. Most likely they didn't move a lot because the county lines were moved back and forth some in the early years. William died in Bladen Co. NC.

John Barefoot b. abt. 1688 (son of Noah Barefoot of Surry Co. b. abt. 1650) was uncle to William above and lived in Bertie Co. then moved to Edgecombe Co. This John and wife unknown had Jepthah, Sr., Noah, Sr., John, Mary and Elizabeth. I have no info on a Johnston Barefoot. Never heard of him.
Sue B
