I don't know if this is helpful but my aunt's name was Ellen Barden, and my grandfather's first wife was named Cornelia. They had two children, Amelia and Leslie Barden. They were all from Clinton, Sampson County, North Carolina area. The are all deceased. My aunt Ellen had a sister Frances Barden and 22 brothers one named George Barden who was my grandfather. I never met any of them except for my grandfather's brother James. I have a great Aunt Harriet Carroll & great Uncle named Sam Carroll whom I never met either. If this is the same family email me at gbarden1@hvc.rr.com. Some of them are buried in the Old Barden Cemetery on the Sampson County Duplin County Line. I have never been there but plan on visiting there in the near future. I live in Newburgh New York. I am also related to the Herrings in Herring Township, Clinton N.C.
