I think some of the Bardens ( Bardin , Borden , Barten ,etc) emigrated from Buck England ( where ever that is ) to Virginia and then to Dobbs County NC . Dobbs was divided into Lenoir , Wayne and Green counties and most records lost in a courthouse fire . Of the NON Indian Bardens some of the names used over and over were Jesse , Woodard , John , and for the females : Patience , Frances , Elizabeth , Mary , Zilphy ( Zilpha , Zilphia )
