Barclay Family Genealogy Forum

Kay, I have a copy of the text you mention and have been in contact with Robbie Dyer another descendent of the John McMillan/Elizabeth Barclay line you mention. If you go to page 75 of the text you will see an entry on (289) Porter Watson Barclay and (533) Lewis P. Barclay. I'm in a bit of a snit with RWB as my father was married to my mother and they had produced my sister (1945) and I (1942) and yet are not mentioned. I have the family bible mentioned in that text. Charles Dutton Barclay, my greatgrandfather, was another family historian and a soldier of the 26th Ohio Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War. The bible was given to my father by CDB's youngest son, Charles Sprague Barclay with a note in it that it was to continue to be passed to the youngest Barclay. I also have a sword given to CDB by the GAR for his detailed history of the 26th OVI's service. I also have a fife and an 1892 shotgun passed down from CDB.
The only info I have on the Guyer family is what is in RWB's text. I have built a PAF and gedcom from the text plus information I received from several other cousins of varying remoteness like yourself. Recently I added a gedcom furnished by Carolyn Shearer based on her husband's relationship with the Barclay family through John and Ann's son, Andrew and wife Sarah Stark. I have also added material from Robbie Dyer. If you have PAF or gedcom with your portion of the family I can add it to mine and ship the resultant document to you. Carolyn actuall lives in Franklin County and volunteers at the Kittochtinney Historical Society.
If you would like to pursue our connection, I suggest you contact me via email and we can go from there. Click on my name in blue at the top of this posting to get my email address.
Great to hear from another cousin.
Phil
