Margaret: Pls see my post 794. In my search Barclay ancestors I started with info that Sarah Barclay (1805-1880) married Ross Alexander Campbell(1796-1873). Had unconfirmed but what I assumed was strong info that Sarah was dau of William C. Barclay (1754-1836) and Sarah Cooper(1771-1841). Searching for ancestors both families.
NOW I find your post 440 that this same William was married to Elizabeth. I am certin my Campbell and Collins ancestors are somehow connected with Barclay since all are buried Middle Octorara Cemetery...but how???
My William and Sarah supposedly had children Nicholas, Wiliam, Ann and Sarah, who married Ross A. Campbell. Do you have any evidence that the William your post married to Elizabeth was married a second time? My info shows that my William and Sarah farmed in Little Britain Lancaster Co. Trying to sort out confusion and confirm pioneer ancestors. Many thanks anything you can provide. Bill willcoff@hotmail.com
