I have in my possession an old photograph with name & date written on the back: Thomas Barclay, July 1883. Photo artist was John Fergus, Largs. I am not a Barclay or related to any Barclays and it's a long story how I came to have this photo. I have about 40 more that appear to be from this period but there are no names or dates written on them. Most were shot in Scotland (Elgin, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh). Perhaps they are Barclay family members, or they may be Greenwoods, or they may be of some other family. Arthur Greenwood of Victoria, BC, Canada had these photos in his possession when he died in the mid 1980s. He had a sister, Alice. Obviously I don't want to throw these photos away and would like to find someone to give them to. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
