Yeppy!!!!!This biography ties in George Gracy Barkley and Samuel A Barkley with Samuel Barkley and Mary Davis son of Robert and Leah Barkley of Rowan Co NC. There are descendants that are trying to do that. Are you pretty sure about this? Also, can she name the 10 brothers and sisters? If you are sure, that means the Barkleys that are in Miss and the Barkleys that came to Texas 1899 to Tyler CO I think and the Barkleys in the Book Under the Branches of the Barkley Tree are all descendants of Samuel and Mary Barkley of Rowan Co NC. And cousins with the Barkleys/ Barclays (David) that were not the sons of Samuel's brother Walter. Do you have any information about Samuel and Mary David Barkley's son born after the will David? So, it does look like those extra Barkleys in east Texas not descended from Walter Barkley/Barclay m to Elizabeth McQueen were nephews of Walter being the descendants of his brother Samuel, the eldest of Robert Barkley m to Leah of Rowan Co NC. Please post this biography of your husband's grandmother on the Barkley genforum also. And I will post this response. The family of Walter and Elizabeth McQueen Barclay changed to the Barclay spelling after being in Texas awhile. The sons were Barkley on the row of the Army of the Republic of Texas but later Barclay. Best wishes to your husband's grandmother.
