Hello, Teddy Barclay;
I am a descendant of Margaret Barclay/Barkley who married Richard King. They had a son Robert King who married Mary Morrison. This family was presbyterian however they moved to the wilds of TN and it was apparently hard to get educated preachers to come to their area so Samuel King, a son of Robert King and Mary Morrison, helped to found a new church called the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Samuel's sister Polly was married to an illiterate man named James Farr who was unable to preach as a Presbyterian minister but the Cumberland Presbyterian Church licensed him as a preacher. Polly King and James Farr were my great great grandparents.
