A biography of William Barclay is included in "Progressive Men of the State of Montana". Parents: James and Elizabeth (McCrindall) Barclay, natives of Ayrshire, Scotland. They came to America in 1851 and settled in La Crosse county, WI. On 29 Dec 1887, William married Miss Rachel Hobbs, of Wisconsin, sister of John Hobbs whose biography is also included in "Progressive Men of the State of Montana". Barclay children: Rex Lionel, Wandafie.
