Phil - I am looking at the abstract of the Will of John Barclay of Mettle (Probably Metal) Twp., Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Dated Dec 14, 1817. Probated 11 Feb. 1818, 2 sons James & George Barclay. Wife: Anne Barclay. 3 youngest daughters: Catheine, Alizabeth & Nancy. 2 sons Francis & Robert. 2 sons Andrew and John. Son. Wm. 3 Daughters: Jeen Collens, Fanny Hearvey & Mary Gordon. Twin ch of Eldest dau. Margaret McQune, now decd. Executors: James and Andrew Barclay. Witnesses Samule M. Ross & James Kilgore.
It appears like someone couldn't spell very well.
Were you aware of this Will?
County lines changed and parts of Cumberland County ended up in Franklin County.
Zoe
