Andrew Barclay, born 1738 in Kinross, Scotland, married Mary Bleigh in 1761 in Boston, Massachusetts. A bookbinder and bookseller by trade, he was a Loyalist and went to New York when Boston fell to the rebels in 1776. He continued his trade there, moving his family to Shelburne, Nova Scotia in 1783 at the close of the American Revolution. Their children were John, James, George, Jane, Elizabeth, Andrew and two others. He remained in Shelburne, a farmer, bookbinder and candlemaker, and solid citizen of the town, until his death in 1823.

I have more information about him which I've e-mailed directly to Charles Barclay.
