Hi Marilyn, Just found your posting about Charles Cicero Barclay who married Elizabeth Goodman. This would be my husband, Don Kiser's great grandparents. Have you ever located any information about them? According to information I have found, they also had a son named James Thomas Barclay. As of 1920 census, Elizabeth lived in Madison w/her son James T. Barclay ----- FL Death Index: Mrs. C. C. Barkley 1924 in Polk Co., Vol 206, #1173 (I have a copy of her death certificate). C. BARCLAY.......Mr. Charles C. Barclay passed away at 11:45 Tuesday night to the great beyond where no heart aches or cares are known. He had been sick several days, but his condidion was not thought serious until Monday night, when he suffered a stroke of paralysis in his right side, rendering him speechless. Medical assistance was at once called and all done that a kind physician and loving friends could do, but to no avail. Mr. Barclay was about 66 years of age and had been a member of the Missionary Baptist church for a number of years, and lived a consistent Christian life until death. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Lizzie Barclay, one son, Jim Barclay and two daughters, Mrs. E. P. (Annie)Kiser and Mrs. Russell (Minnie Lee) Redd, besides a number of relatives and friends. He was interred at Pine Grove cemetery, Rev. S. C. Warren conducting the funeral services. May the Lord who doeth all things well comfort the grief stricken family in their sad bereavement. A Friend. For the life of me I cannot find him on the 1900 or prior census. Any information you could provide would be helpful to me.
