Dear Janice, Samuel Barclay was indeed the oldest son of Robert Barkley of Rowan County, NC and a brother of Walter Barclay of Texas. He was born circa 1763. He married Mary Davis 5 Jul 1784 in Rowan County. His children as I have them were John, Samuel A., Margaret, Catherine, Else and Jane.
