Hey Cousin Janice Barclay, tell your hubby hello from the Texas Barclays. First, did you know that the Barclay Bastion was put together mainly by the descendants of Robert, son of Robert Barkley and Leah Madison Barkley of Rowan Co NC. Search for it to get more information about your direct line. Also, if you email me, I will send you by email what they sent me about your husband's branch, also my branch, if you would like. For quite a bit about my Walter and Elizabeth McQueen Barclay branch, search the Tyler County Genealogical Society pages, for my webs, and also one not called Barclay but the Wild Deer and Santa Ana. Also the census of 1850 through TCGS. About Leah's last name. I got that from Barclay Bastion, who said it was submitted by Sandra Hargraves of Wash State and Ana Riley of Tyler Co Texas. I checked with both of them as to where they got it and it seems pretty acurate. Sandra has purchased and paid researchers in Penn, NJ, NC, Kentucky, Tenn and Ark for her information and did her own in Texas. We also had earlier and other family researchers, including me. Robert Barclay, of the seventh gen in Iowa is an extensive Barclay researcher and he said that the first choice for Leah is Madison, the second choice for Leah is Todd. We have information about all the siblings except the elusive David Barclay, brother of Robert and Walter, Samuel and John. The descendants of Robert have worked this pretty hard for many years and the information about Robert being the son of Margaret Kerr is very iffy. Also, there was a Henry Barclay in Rowan Co NC also who was the father of the other Robert Barkley of Rowan Co NC married to Eleanor. They were likely kin. Now I want to know about my cousins settling Oregon. How can I get information from you and your husband about your branch?
