Hi My name is Jacquelin Charlene Barbour-Cowan,
I am a 42 yr. old African-American from Durham, NC where me & my parents Doris Thompson Barbour/Charlie Barbour resided until my father's death in 1974 and my mother's death in 1994. I am currently a Cary resident since 2003. Again I am attempting to locate my grandparent's (John Barbour/Ida Pair Barbour)decendants, I was informed by my mother that my father and his family was from Clayton of Johnston Co., NC. Because of my father's age (71), my age(8)at his death, and my mother not keeping in touch with my father's family I don't remember any of my paternal family members. During some preliminary research I have learned that there are many seperate Barbour families within the Johnston Co. communities. On a previous visit to Clayton, NC approximately 6yrs ago I met with a young lady by the name of Deborah Richardson that was kin to a set of Barbour's from Barboursville but because of the limited information I had on my father and being that the majority of Deborah's elder family members were deceased we couldn't make a connection or confirm that this set were my paternal decedants. Deborah or anyone else out there with ANY information regarding my grandparents John Barbour/Ida Pair Barbour or my father Charlie Barbour born July 4, 1903,served in the Korean War, and also possibly fathered a son named Michael that is a few yrs. my senior please feel free to contact me at ANY time via email or at this # 919-491-0838. Your assistance with my research is greatly appreciated and I anxiously anticipate hearing from you soon.
