My husband and I became interested in Horatio Seymour when we purchased his mohogany Heppelwhite table (which is unique in its own rights). Horatio was born in Pompey, New York on May 31, 1810, moved with his family to Utica, NY in 1820. His father, Henry Seymour, bought a "double brick house" built in 1810. Horatio was New York State governor twice and was the democratic contender against U. S. Grant for the Presidency.
Henry must have been a sibling of your ancestor.
