Hi, Dee; You're going to need a lot of help on this one. but first; you're not 'bothering' anybody by requesting assistance from anyone on this messaage board. We are all looking and that's why we're here. Now to your problem. I'm assuming that your father is dead. You didn't give his first and middle names before or after adoption. People recognize us more by name than by birthdate which is what you gave. Did your father ever give anything at all about his father or mother? I think you will need expert help to get around his adooption records but it is available, most probably at a minimum cost. Maybe $100.00 but it would be worth it. The last U.S. Census that is available to us is 1930 so your father wouldn't be in it but incertain cases the 1940 Census can be looked at for his name and that would get you his father, mother, location and if he had any siblings. In special cases the Census Bureau can tell you how to go about it. His parents would certainly be in the 1930 and 1920 Census. You have to know the States though.[Texas; also?]
From there you can trace his ancestry back as far as 1790, the year of the first one. But 2 years are missing and you will somehow have to get over them. The 1880 and 1890. But it's not insurmountable. A trace route that is seldom tried is if your father was ever arrested for anything. The police will have a record of who he said his parents were, if he knew. That's about all I can help you with at this time. Good Luck in your search. ELTON
