Barbour formerly LaBombera, Brockton, MA

The parents of my father, George J. Barbour who was born in the Brockton MA area in 1893, changed their surname from LaBombera to Barbour around the turn of the century. LaBombera is a French Canadian name, and the family sought to disassociate themselves from that ethnic group because of prejudices in the area at that time. So they picked "Barbour," a well known name in the shoe industry of the Brockton area. This, however, leaves me with no way of tracing the family as my father's family has died or disappeared. Can anyone out there help? I am trying to have a listing under LaBombera as well.
