John Barboar (Barber) came from Scotland in 1716 with sons John and James. May originally be from Ireland because daughter of John2, Margaret was b. 1716 in Dublin, Ireland. John1 drowned in Falmouth, ME in 1719.

Son John2 was a surveyor of highways from 1726-27. Was granted 30 acres in Falmouth, Me on Nov. 28, 1727. First acquired 10 acres in Low Meadow in april of 1724. Then in 1726 was granted one acre from Middle Street to Back Street, Falmouth. Falmouth, ME microfilm.-Town Records.
John's 1st wife, Ann, dyed 4 Mar 1725/26, Falmouth, Me.
Ch: Margaret, b. 1716, Dublin, Ireland, m Enoch Knight in 1746. She died 1 Nov 1808.
Adam b. 26 Sep 1719, Falmouth, ME
Mary b. 18 Apr 1722, Falmouth, ME m
John Getchell 7 Oct/Nov 1742.
Ann b. 8 Nov 1725, Falmouth, ME
John m 2nd, Mary //.
Ch: Hannah b. 19 Nov 1728, Falmouth, ME
Robert d. 18 Feb 1725/6 (killed by indians).
