There's a book called "Those Were the Days, 1873-1973, Traer, Iowa" which has a brief biographical sketch of Dryden Barbour:

Dryden Barbour came to Tama Co. 1858, bought a farm near Traer for $6 per A. The S.W. corner of the farm forms West Union Cemetery. Dean Degners now live on the Barbour farm. c. Alice, Flavia, Henry, Ovid. Alice, an early-day school teacher, m. George Stoakes; Flavia, also teacher, m. Charles Green; Henry m. Mary Anna Wentch; Ovid m. Ella Gaston.
